Hello pretty peeps!
Donna here for another tutorial. I really hope you’ll like it as I had fun creating this layout. Let’s get started!
First, I traced a shaped patterned paper to a white cardstock (12×12).
Using a protractor with two sharp points (I don’t know what it’s called), I punched stitching holes along the edges of the cardstock.
When you’re finished stitching around the edges, splatter some paints/mists and dab distress stains on the surface as seen in the image. Then lightly draw leaf shapes (the yellowish swirly/leafy thingy). Pierce stitching holes through the leaf shapes again using the protractor.
Use suitable thread color when stitching the leaves. I wanted a very dark green and I liked how it turned out. Erase the pencil marks after you finish stitching.
Then use a dark color green mist to color in the leaves as seen in the image.
Let’s start embellishing!
I also added black swirls using a black gouache paint. I used stickles over it later on. I adhered the shaped cardstock over a kraft with glittered dots paper by Crate paper. I used recent photos of my nieces, including the latest addition of our little cute Chloe (sister of my eldest niece, Cheska). I love them to bits!!!!
And my finished layout.. if you’ll notice, I like mixing and matching old and new products. That way, you can use up your stash still managing to create beautiful projects.
I really hope you liked my tutorial and it jump-started your creativity!
