How to create a 3D Heart Wreath Frame | Photo Tutorial

Hello crafters! This is Zeyna from Mummy On My Mind back with another Mom & Child craft, this time with the theme of February in mind.

You can have a look at my previous crafts projects, where I created a Number Recognition Game for my Toddler , a 3D Seashell Memory Frame and Newborn Baby Shadowbox.

Color Palette 2078

The theme for the month of January is not a word, but a Luxury Royal colour palette which can be seen here, and for it I decided to create a 3D Heart Wreath Frame with my son. It’s super simple and easy to make, so you can recreate it too with you kids.

For this project I used the following PPS Supplies:

Prima Marketing Relics & Artifacts Archival Wooden Tray Set

Dear Lizzy Star Gazer Adhesive Flair Buttons 8/Pkg

American Crafts Dear Lizzy Washi Tape 6-Page Booklet 6.5″X4″

American Crafts Single-Sided Paper Pad 6″X6″ 36/Pkg

Me & My Big Ideas Specialty Stickers Can I Get An Amen

ColorBox Pigment Mini Ink Pad Scarlet

First up, I took the largest of the wooden trays as the base for my wreath frame. Using the Scarlet stamp, I dabbed the entire border of the tray with it. I did not want to paint it, as I wanted the detail of the wood grains to show through.

Then using the Single Sided Paper Pad, I used a teal green pattern paper and stuck it inside the wooden frame to use as the background, and contrast the pink colours that I will be building up.

Again using the Single Sided Paper Pad, I cut out different sized hearts on papers that were or included strawberry pink in colour.

My son and I began placing the hearts and sticking them in place to create a circular wreath-like shape on top of the wooden tray.

To make it 3D, my son helped me stick the smaller heart shaped papers on top of the bigger ones, by folding it in the middle, as can be seen above.

Once the main 3D wreath shape was complete, we accessorized the frame with washitape and stickers, placing them in appropriate gaps, as seen above.

There you have it! A simple 3D Heart Wreath Frame you can create with your little one.
