Create A Scrapbook Page with Washi Tapes and Impasto Paints | Photo Tutorial

Hello! Donna here sharing my take on this month’s challenge: “Anything Goes”. I created a scrapbook page with lots of flower embellishments made out of Washi Tapes and a bit of mixed media background using Impasto Paints.

First, I used several mediums to add texture to the background. I splattered and sprinkled a combination of mists and metallique acrylic paints.

To create the pink and green texture, I used a stencil and two different colors of impasto paints.

I used two of the Washi tapes to add borders to the top and bottom of the layout.

While waiting for the Impasto Paints to dry, I prepped and cut the floral embellishments. I love this Tattered Florals Sizzix Tim Holtz metal die so much I use it all the time. To make these flowers, I adhered the Washi tapes onto a normal copy paper then I run it through my die cutting machine.

It’s pretty straightforward after this. I mounted my photo with foam tapes and added some messy thread underneath. Then I adhered the flowers one by one varying the colors for visual interest.

And my page is done!

The title, itty bitty wordarts, and buttons were leftovers from a past DT kit.

Notice the small gold hearts? I fussy cut these from one of the Washi tapes I used. Instant heart confetti!

Again, I used foam tapes to some of the die cut flowers to add a bit of height/dimension.

I hope you liked my scrapbook page! If you have any queries about this project I shared today, just leave a comment and I will answer them the best I can.

Thank you so much for dropping by and Happy Crafting!
