GIFT BOX IDEAS FOR HIM | Photo Tutorial

Written by Aliza Ansari

Hello everyone,

This is Aliza here and today I am going to show you some creative way to present your gifts and give it a handmade touch!

The theme for this month is this beautiful  color palette from ColorPalettes.net. This palette has the 2018 Pantone Color of the year – UltraViolet.

Lets start with the first and most simple one!

For this one you just need a piece of cardstock which measures         6″ x 12″.

And you need two piece of designer paper measuring 4′ x 2.25′ and two pieces measuring 1.25″ x 2.25″.

On the 12″ side score at 4.25″, 5.75″,10″ and 11.5″. On the 6″ side score at 1.5″ and 4″ and flip the paper over and score at 5.5″.

fold the score lines and cut the bottom sides as shown in the pic.

Apply glue at the .5″ corner flap and fold it to form a box. Then apple glue at the bottom flap and close it. Paste the designer paper on it as shown in the pic.

Now you need to pinch the open sides of the box with your fingers to give it a milk cartoon shape.

Next you need to punch holes on the pinched side so that the hole passes from all four layers and insert a ribbon from one side to other to form a bow which will be the closure of the box. Apply some sentiments to it and you are done!

Now moving to second box which is my fav one!

For this you need two sheets of cardstock one for the top and one for the bottom.

Top:  8″ x 10″  Bottom: 6″ x 8″

and you need a single piece of designer paper measuring 5.75″ x  3.75″.

The scoring for this one is very simple.

On the base piece of 8″ x 10″, score at 2″ on all four sides and on the top piece of 6″ x 8″, score at 1″ on all four sides.

Now the corners of both the pieces as shown in the pic. (Please ignore the glue on top, it was just an attempt to keep the paper flat! :))

Now paste the designer paper on the top piece. I have added a little color to the original paper to make it look more attractive.

Now apply glue at the corners and make it a box. Apply some sentiments and ribbons to give it a final touch and you are done!

Now lets move to the third one, postcard notepad!

For this one you need three pieces of cardstock:  3.75″ x 11″                                                                                                                                 4.75″ x 7.25″                                                                                                                             2.5″ x 2.5″

And you need two pieces of designer paper:  3.5″ x 3.5″                                                                                                                                    2.5″ x 3.5″

Scorings are as follows:

11″ x 3.75″ :-  On 11″ side score at 4″, 8″, 9″ and 10″

4.75″ x 7.25″ :- On  4.75″ side score at .5″ and 4.5″                                                                            On 7.25″ side score at 4″ and 4.5″

2.5″ x 2.5″ :- On one 2.5″ side score at .5″, 1″, 1.5″ and 2″

fold and apply glue at the corner flap of 2.5″ x 2.5″ paper and fold it to form a pen holder as shown in the pic.

Fold the 11″ piece as shown in the pic (you need to fold the bottom score lines alternatively in front and back position). Apply glue at the 1″ corner and close it to form the back stand.

Now take the 4.75″ x 7.25″ piece and score and cut it as shown in the image. I have rounded the corner for a better look. Apply the designer paper on it but be careful to check the sides before applying as one is at the front side and the other one is at the back. so see carefully in the image before pasting.

Now apply glue at  the small square piece in the middle and paste it as shown.

Now apply glue to the pen holder and stick two sides at the back panel as shown and then apply glue at the sides of the front panel to close it to form a box.

Apply glue at the back and stick it to the stand and its done!
