Handmade Gift Tags – Photo Tutorial

Hey crafty people! It’s Stamptember! So excited about the new stamp release by Pretty Paper Studio. Do check out the fabulous collection in their store. This month I’ll be making some gift tags using a clear layering stamp set that PPS was kind enough to send through their DT kit. This stamp set was designed by our design team member Anjali and named as Anjali’s Florals

Pretty Paper Studio has these Tim Holtz Distress Tag Assortment that can be used readymade for making tags. They are available in assorted sizes #2 #5 and #8.

For the first tag, I chose size #5. Stamped the ‘ Thinking of You ‘ using the Ranger Archival Ink Pad Jet Black on the tag. In case the stamping isn’t crisp enough then you can write over using your micron pens or markers. I have used my Tombow MONO Twin Tip Permanent Marker – Black. Then using VersaMark Watermark Clear Ink Pad stamp the floral stamp over the tags. Emboss it using Ranger Embossing Powder, super fine silver.

For the next tag, stamp ‘you’re loved’ using VersaMark Watermark Clear Ink Pad. i chose the tag size #2.  Add more designs using Emboss It Clear pen. One tag I embossed using Ranger Embossing Powder, princess gold. And another tag with Ranger Embossing Powder, super fine silver as shown below.

For the final tag, I used brush pens to ink my stamps. Using brush pens will not give you a crisp image but I use them as I like the distress effect that it leaves. But make sure not to use the tip of the pens as it may get damaged. Apply the ink and stamp it on the tag. Then you can also add in contrasting colors and blend the colors using a blending pen. The ‘Get Well Soon’ stamp was stamped below using the Ranger Archival Ink Pad Jet Black.

Here is the final look of my four tags,
