Oh, but first of all, please allow me to say HELLO to our fellow DIY queens! I am Didith of KnickKnacks Creative. I am your new member of the PPS Design Team. I am pleased to have this beautiful opportunity to create projects with you and with the creative team of our most-loved shop in the UAE, the Pretty Paper Studio.
So this month we feature the theme “Stamptember” and I can’t wait to connect with you as we unleash our creativity and discover pieces of inspiration. Are you ready to make pretty things today? Oh yay!
One of the most requested projects my clients would ask from me is to create for them these little something giveaways that are special, simple, chic but cost-effective.
Although I understand that my clients are mostly too busy to be engaged in crafts or they don’t usually hand make on a regular basis, I would still try to recommend that DIY-ing is the best and terrific solution to execute. Because something handmade is so much more meaningful. At least, I believe so.
Well… how about scheduling a fun craft afternoon with your intimate friends to join you make your customized wedding pouch keepsakes. Hand tied gift bags make wedding guests feel extra special, don’t they?
I’m so thrilled! Let’s get started!
Step 1. Prepare the following materials.
Blank Canvas Pouch Drawstring Bags
‘Handmade with Love’ Clear Stamp Set
Apple Pie Memories Acrylic Stamp Block
Deco Art Americana Acrylic Paint
You may put on some chill-out music, or perhaps your favorite drink to cherish and savor this moment of creating.
Step 2. Take out the blank, clean and wrinkle-free canvas pouch.
I got to purchase this 12 x 16 cm quality pouch for only 2 Aed at Dragon Mart in Dubai where there’s a variety of sorts to choose from.
Step 3. Get the clear stamps ready. Stamp art out.
Clear stamps are easy to use and are best for accurate stamping. The stamps are simply removed from the protective backing, attached to the acrylic block, dabbed with ink and used as normal.
For this project, I used this rounded clear stamp and StazOn Midi orange ink to begin a monochrome minimalist design.
I fell in love with creating embellishments. It’s so satisfying! The stamp set was designed primarily to create a layering of florals and leaves. However, I chose to only use these three pieces. Thus, this means you can find a lot of bits in the ‘Handmade with Love’ Clear Stamp Set.
And oh yes! As a result, the StazOn Ink was just perfect for stamping on fabrics. It’s rich in color but it did dry fairly quickly on the surface. You will certainly have fun working with this ink as well. It certainly does Sta(y)zOn!
Step 4. Finish this handmade project with the couple’s initials.
If you also love hand-lettering and calligraphy like I do, this project can be completed by writing some pretty scripts of the couple’s initials. These Deco Art Acrylic Paint (Colonial Blue) and Princeton Round Brush-Size 4 were even more perfect match essentials to cap off the layout.

And finally, surprise the guests by stuffing the cloth satchel with a purposeful memento. Attach a simple tag and a dainty dried flower and… Taadaaa! Bliss!
Stamping is just that! It provides a lot of room for play and imagination which anybody can do. Add words and other embellishments of your choice. Use different mediums and colors that appeal to you.
