Hope and Believe Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout | Photo Tutorial

Hello loves! Donna here sharing my take on this month’s challenge theme: “Hope”. I made a scrapbook layout and I used the beautiful Zella Teal collection by Prima Marketing Inc. I chose to create with this collection because I think the color palette is just perfect for the challenge theme.

I prepared a short step-by-step tutorial how I came up with my layout.

First, I used my Silhouette Cameo machine to cut the word “hope” several times. I wanted to create a dimensional title but I didn’t want to use foam tapes to add height. I adhered the words on top of each other to create something like this

Then, I used the paper you see in the image as my background. I used a couple of white doilies to mat the photos.

I blended two colors (teal/turquoise and brown) from “The Classic” watercolor confections and brushed it around the photos. I also diluted a bit of Metallique Light Patina to add some shimmer. Then I brushed a thin layer of clear gesso before sprinkling some Midnight Blue Glass Glitters.

I started placing/adhering the flowers and some ephemera/die cuts/chipboards as well as the title. Then, using black ink, I stamped around the area without glass glitters to add some more texture.

I accidentally splattered some paints on the photos so I had to print another set of photos. It was a tad smaller but it still worked, I think.

Lastly, I added some sequins and crystals to complete the layout.

And this is the result

Here more close up/detailed photos of the layout

That’s all for today! I hope you liked my layout as much I do!
