Love Mini Album | Photo Tutorial

Hello, Ingrid here + I’m back to introduce a new challenge, CAS kit info & a new project to share. February is the love month & our challenge theme is “LOVE”. You can make anything inspired by love… a layout, a card, an album, an altered project, or a home décor.

On the other note, PPS have put together a Clean-and-Simple (CAS) kit to make paper crafting less time consuming & easy. For this month it’s a LOVE themed kit. The moment I saw this kit, I got so excited to create something. This time intended not to create a mini album for my boys or for my K (planning a family album). I was debating within myself who to create this mini for & after a couple of days, I finally decided. Every time I look at the CAS kit this month, I thought of my sister. Fitted just right for her.

Here’s the CAS kit for this month.

Here’s my project for this month, a mini love album for my sister (“Hugs and Kisses”).

I initially planned on creating a 6×6 album but since my photos of my sisters were mostly of low resolution, I decided to change to a smaller sized album, 4×4. Cut the papers & the glitter acetate into 4×4 sizes & punched holes for the card rings.

Created a 4×4 shaker by using a 4×4 project life protector. Inserted tracing paper which I cut a bit smaller in height, added some mixed sequins, stitched the top part & punched holes for the card rings. I also adhered 4 geo tags on the holes.

Just like my usual routine, I made a layout plan for my album pages which I also do for my monthly project life. This process helps me determine the sequence/order of my pages.

As soon as I get to put my foundation pages in order, I started to embellish. Since I already have a simple layout for my cover, I started embellishing the cover pages first. The glitter heart acetate with the red cardstock was perfect for the cover. Used the XO white foam sticker as the title of my mini album which I adhered at the heart glitter acetate. I added a phrase “hugs and kisses” (the meaning of XO) using my label maker & adhered it to the red cardstock just below the “XO” so it could still be visible from the heart glitter cover.

Then I embellished the inside pages using the puffy stickers, cardstock stickers, foam stickers, geo tags, washi tape & gift tags from the kit.

I used my tab & circle punches & some of the gift tags from the kit created tabs throughout my mini album.

I also added some texts (in typewriter font) on my tabs & on some pages. I typed the phrases in Photoshop then printed it on a white cardstock. Cut the phrases, stick a double-sided tape at the back & adhered them to the tabs.

After I was done with the embellishing & some journaling, I gathered them all together & inserted the card rings. After that, I went back through all the pages one-by-one just to make sure everything was good.

Here’s a video walk-through of the entire album.
