MixedMedia Altered Box

Hiya Crafty Friends!

This is SathyaKala from Paperie Expressions.

Very Happy New Year to all PPS visitors and bloggers here.

“New Beginnings; New Hopes” And may this new year brings you loads of success, peace and joy your way!

Our Challenge theme for this month is “Hope” and i have chosen a quote to go with it.

“Where Flowers bloom so does Hope.” And my project is wound around this quote.

I have chosen complete Zella Teal Collection from PrimaMarketing to go with this theme for my Altered MixedMedia Project, which is a packaging resin box from Prima Marketing Inc.

Let’s get started!

The box has 4 little compartments and so chosen designer papers from 6×6 pack of Zella Teal.

Measured and cut the papers to line the inner sides of the Box. And white gessoed it completely.

Now onto the outer sides and back side of the box, applied randomly Prima White Crackle texture paste in thick and thin fashions using spatula. This would result in beautiful bigger and tiny crackles in mix. Distressed the edges of the papers before adhering it to the inner sides of the box.

Leaving it for a natural drying creates bigger crackles, but here i hit it with Heat gun to sped up  the process, yet the gorgeous textures are revealed once i sprayed generously over it with the Teal spray.

Teal and Textures…just so gorgeous!

After lining the box with designer papers, gathered Zella Teal collection of flowers, diecut the pps using circle dies of varying sizes to mat and layer, took few ephemeras, made some embellishment using dome and bottecaps, puffy stickers from Rose quartz collection.

Made the sentiment using various word bits using Timholtz chitchat stickers from our store, and sentiment tile, alphabet tiles from my stash.

Now the fun part of assembling, collaging and adding the bits and pieces to make it into a pretty piece of altered art.

I made the floral cluster first, using the gorgeous Zella Teal Flowers from Prima Marketing Inc. And added few from my stash such as bird nest, bird, moss, corner resin, pearl strings, enamel dots, clear dew drops.

Some closer look of the projects to reveal the detailings.

Added moss, Prima artstones, Prima forest leaves diecuts using Zella teal designer papers, Prima Hemp cord.

Here you can see the pretty crackles of the sides of the box.

That’s it for today! Hope you like it. Do try these steps to make up a similar kind of project. Shoot any queries if any in the comments section below, will try my best to answer.
