This is SathyaKala from Paperie Expressions . How was your V-Day. I had a great one and its even more sweetened with my Mom’s presence here at my Home. Truly Love is in Air!
This month challenge theme is a Color scheme from Colorpalettes.net . This has this year’s Pantone year of 2018 -Ultraviolet.
I have chosen the colors from the elements (yellow, green,)and even elements (florals, textures on petals, dewdroplets) as my inspirations. Let’s get started!
I had received some interesting mixed media products as my DT Kit and tried some effects with it today in my project. Used a photograph (my Mom’s picture) as Focal point.
Received two 6×6″canvases, Timholtz Grunge board which can be stained, grunged, inked and sanded even. With the hand drew heart template, cut two heart halves from Grungeboard, attached at its back using washitapes and liquid adhesives.
To give a twist, i have attached two 6″canvases and made it into a double canvas, white gessoed it.
Added the grunge heart and white gessoed it and followed by it stenciled by Limestone effect paste using Timholtz flourishes stencil. Then few stamping done around the heart.
Violet mist is sprayed over stenciled heart and pink pearlescent spray sprayed around the heart on canvas.
Gathered all the embellishments from the Kit. Matted the picture using Simple stories designer papers. Added chipboard which are white heat embossed underneath the pictures. Few tinted cheesecloth tucked underneath and the floral diecut stickers are added around the focal image.
Added Pumice effect from Pumice stone effect paste around the rim of the heart and immediately sprinkled artstones while its wet.
Added few inked chipboards, word stickers, various Prima floral collections, glitter balls, Prima melange, enamel dots from my stash and few from earlier DT Kits.
To make it even more interesting, finally added Prima White texture crackle paste using spatula on the entire canvas leaving the central heart portion.
Thick and thin fashion of crackles appeared when hit by heat gun and Prima metallic pink mica powder added to the crackles by spraying water immediately. This left a beautiful sheen and shine to the project, which is hard to capture on the camera.
