This is going to be a long one, grab a cuppa!
Firstly, our website got some sprucing up! We heard your requests to include a better Search Button and a Filter to help you find items easily. Plus we gave our website a new life with a new colour palette.
Do have a look at www.ppsuae.com whenever time permits and we hope you will love the changes too!
I had made several mistakes with our previous logo – I was inexperienced at the time and didn’t know better – which means this time around I became super picky and cautious. And I cannot thank my dear friend Anjali Rengan for putting up with my never-ending revisions and the long list of requirements! You really hit it out of the park with a baby in tow, Anjali! Forever grateful!
About the changes – since we closed our physical storefront in December last year, I have mentioned there will be some ‘changes’ in our business. Now that the website is revamped and we have a new look, I felt this is the perfect time to explain.
As you have probably noticed through my posts here, there’s a lot more of Lettering/Calligraphy related content as that is the direction I am intending to move into. Sometimes I think the reason we did the Pop Up back in late 2017 followed by our retail store in 2018 was for me to find the Lettering/Calligraphy artist in me. Alhamdulillah. As cliched as it sounds, life does work in mysterious ways.
That’s not to say we won’t stock any art/craft supplies. We will, but a much smaller variety than what we had last year.Ideally, I would love to continue as a full-fledged art/craft store with my Lettering/Calligraphy work on the side. However, that’s me being over ambitious and asking for trouble. Though both businesses are similar, they require different types of attention and a massive amount of time and effort. As a mother of four, sailing this ship pretty much solo, it is just not something I can take up now. And I am 100% ok with that. I hope you will support me here like you always have.
I also wanted to mention that though I will continue putting up art/craft related videos and blog posts, there will not be any Design Team going forward. I am really thankful for the talented ladies who supported @ppsuae since it’s inception. But like every beautiful chapter, this one has a bittersweet ending as well.
On the plus side, you will be seeing more of me and my work going forward and I hope you will enjoy what I will be presenting and will be inspired to create – hence the new tagline ‘Inspiring Creativity’.
I am excited and nervous! I am 35 yo you guys and calling myself a ‘Lettering/Calligraphy Artist’ instead of an ‘Online Store Owner’ is a major adjustment for me. I am praying and hoping that whatever the future holds for me is beautiful and makes me a better person overall. Ameen.
Thank you so much for reading this far!
