Project Life Pages | Photo Tutorial

Ingrid here to introduce our new challenge theme for this month & share to you my August Project Life pages.

It’s the start of the “ber” months! A few more month & it’s going to be Chirstmas holidays & everybody are excited to their gift giving shopping. For me & K, we’re excited to spend the December holidays with the boys back home. It is something we really look forward to.

BUT before that happens, it’s back to school & back to the usual day-to-day routine for those with school aged child/children. That’s our new challenge theme for this month Back to School & you’ll have a chance to win a goodie bag worth 50aed from our store. Yay! (Challenge details at the bottom of this post.)

Without much ado, here’s my August Project Life pages using my DT kit for this month, some of my previous DT kits & personal stuff.

As you may have noticed for the past 9 months since I became a part of PPS design team, my project life approach has not altered & so far I have no plans of changing how I do my project life pages. I always do it to the minimum embellishment & hoping to incorporate more journaling through a combined handwritten & printed formats.

Before I edit my photos, I make a layout of each pages to determine which photos to print into 3×4 & 4×6 & where to add a journaling card & filler cards before I cut them to size. As I always said from my previous blog posts, this step makes my process faster & organized.

For my title card, I used a brown paper alpha set from my old stuff for “AUGUST” & added doodles on each letter.

Using my personal stamp sets I created embellishment to add to my photos & journal cards. I used the 1-1/4″ circle punch for the circle embellishment. I also created a journal card using a white cardstock (cut to 3×4), a stamp from my previoud DT kit (“Documented”) & a phrase stamp from my personal collection.  These approach were carried all throughout my project life pages.

I have a little tutorial (at the bottom) on how I came up with a 4×6 portrait page protector since I don’t have a ready-made one.

Below is our anniversary spread. On the left, our simple anniversary dinner date without our selfie. On the right, my anniversary layout. A larger view on that below.

And this is my quote for the month. Cut the words from a magazine & then added some doodles as border.

Here’s a little tutorial for my 4×6 page protector.

1-Using a 6×8 page protector, I inserted a 4×6 patterned paper.
2-Cut the top part (excess part) of the page protector.
3-I sealed the right side of the patterned paper using a fuse tool making sure I added about 1/16″ from the edge of the paper before I run the fuse tool.
4-Then cut the remaining part of the page protector just right after the sealed part.
5-Punched holes so it could fit the ring binder.

Here’s a bit closer look of my anniversary layout. Using the top part of the cardstock pad, I stitched each strip to cover my paper base. I used a large stencil for the number 13 using 2 white cardstocks glued together so it could be sturdier. Then I wrote my journaling inside the number. Added some of our wedding photos in black & white photo strips. Lastly, Using some of the transparent stickers from my DT kit, I stuck them first on a white cardstock  then using a little mounting tape attached them on the layout.
