“Remember today” mini-album photo tutorial

Donna here again and today I’m gonna share with you another project created with the current challenge in mind, something that inspired me about the new Pretty Paper Studio website.

Welcoming new beginnings, new adventure, new endeavor, new home… this mini-album is all about that. This short tutorial will guide you on how I created this mini-album dedicated to my pregnancy! I’m pretty excited doing this. I conceptualized it to be very simple, not so much embellishments inside because I wanted it to be more about the photos (and ultrasound scans) and stories/notes about me and my baby’s journey.

So let’s start! Gather the supplies you want to use.
1

You will also need 2 pcs, of 6×6 plain cardstock, will serve as your album covers.
2

I preferred to use the 6×6 paper pads instead of cutting several from one sheet of 12×12. I find it easier, everything is the correct size.
3

Adhere 2 pcs. of 6×6 paper back to back, this will serve as your album pages. I used my crop-a-dile to punch the holes. I also used the 4×6 card as inserts.
4

For the covers, adhere 1 pc of 6×6 paper and one of the 6×6 plain cardstock prepared previously. After adhering the two papers, use a washi tape around it as seen in the image.
5

It made the cover clean and fancy with that washi tape.
6

Design your cover as desired. Here, I used several elements that can be found in the website: colorful papers and patterns, heart shape, flowers, twine, doily.
7

This mini-album is a WIP (work-in-progress), and will add more to it until I deliver my baby… and that’s another album/project for sure! I kept everything pretty simple and not too bulky. Only the first page was kinda like that with the vine but everything else, I adhered as is with very few 3d foams.

I reinforced my embellishments with more adhesive so even if other people will check it out, nothing will fall down. I love to use my handwriting in most of my projects. Especially personal ones like this.

TIP: Scan and print your ultrasound results.
Yeah..yeah… I KNOW this and been thinking about it while doing the album. But I procrastinated and ended up with blurry original ultrasound scans later on when I checked and noted some things in the album.
You will still see the original scans in the following photos.
One of the features I like in mini-albums are the hidden compartments for tags used for journaling…

or extra photos… like this plastic sleeve I stitched and served as pocket to these two ultrasound scans

One of the card inserts I mentioned. I embellished with a doily and some chipboard and stickers.

The back of the card insert served as journaling spot for this next page. This is the latest of my ultrasound scans and the next two pages served as journaling spot for this one. It was quite long because I had several tests done this part of my pregnancy.

I had fun making this mini-album and I hope you got inspired by it. I hope you like it!
